Rules
Community Guidelines
Theysay works because strangers are kind enough to look and guess, and brave enough to be looked at. These rules keep it that way. They are part of the Terms of Use.
Your photo
- It's you. Your face, your photo, taken with your consent. Nobody else, no group shots, no kids, no celebrities, no AI faces, no photos found online.
- You're 18 or older. No exceptions.
- Keep it clothed and calm. No nudity, underwear, sexual poses or suggestive content. No violence, weapons pointed at the camera, blood, hate symbols or shock imagery.
- A real, recent photo. Filters that change your face, heavy edits, screenshots of other apps and stock photos are removed.
Your guesses
- Look, then guess. Give each card the second it deserves. Guesses faster than a human look aren't counted.
- Guess, don't judge. Every question is about how someone looks to you, not about who they are or whether you like them. The first-impression words are all kind or neutral on purpose.
- Leave people alone. Never try to find, contact, follow or identify anyone you see in Theysay. Never screenshot, save or share someone else's photo. What happens in the voting screen stays there.
Reports
- Tap the flag on any card to report it. Choose the closest reason. You will never see that photo again.
- If the photo is of you and you didn't upload it, choose "This is me and I didn't consent". We remove it fast.
- Don't report photos just because you don't like them. False reports count against your account.
What happens when rules are broken
We remove photos and close accounts, usually without warning, for photos of minors, photos of other people, nudity, hate, harassment, bots and multiple accounts. There is no refund for an account closed for breaking these rules. Repeat offenders and their devices are banned.
